The fourth release in Suntory's sakura-cask series, and the formula is now a rite of spring: malt whiskies from Yamazaki and Hakushu, grain from Chita, and a rare parcel finished in casks made from Japanese cherry blossom wood. The 2024 edition pours with cherry blossom and osmanthus on the nose, then turns silky — sakura mochi, honey, vanilla and orchard fruit over Hibiki's signature smooth blend.
The 2024 packaging is one of the series' boldest, wrapping the 24-faceted decanter's box in deep crimson kimono-textile florals. An annual limited release, bottled once and not repeated — each year's edition stands on its own.
