In 1870, Maurice Hennessy asked his master blender to build a private reserve for his closest friends — the blend became the first cognac ever classified X.O. Drawn from over 100 eaux-de-vie across Cognac's four crus and aged up to thirty years in French oak, it pours deep amber with candied fruit, black pepper, and dark chocolate on the nose, opening into cinnamon, vanilla, and toasted oak through a long finish. Sip it neat in a wide glass, or over one large cube for a slow nightcap.
