Overview

If you love pulling apart a rum blend, this one's a fun puzzle. Ed Hamilton (of Ministry of Rum fame) marries rich Demerara rum from Guyana with funky Worthy Park pot-still rum from Jamaica, then bottles it in New York at a very sippable 84 proof. Expect ripe banana, dark fruit and spice with a curl of smoky oak, plus that honeyed stone-fruit nose and a long, faintly briny finish. Sturdy enough to sip neat, characterful enough to lift a tropical cocktail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ 4/5 AI Rating

Reviewers on Rum Ratings and Memphis Rum Club call Hamilton 1670 a solid value blend marrying Worthy Park's milder funk with Demerara's dark fruit and molasses. Approachable neat or in cocktails at 42% ABV. Some prefer it as a mixer over a neat sipper. Excellent at $26.
