Notes on the Hagefen Napa Valley Pinot Noir 2013: Blending the fine yields of two vineyards in the southern Napa Valley, this wine reflects a passion for crafting truly high-quality Pinot Noir. The wine is a cloudy garnet color, light looking like a pinot should be. The aromas are subtle, not bursting with fruit but there is a hint of dark cherry, raspberry and a little bit of oak. The taste is light bodied with a medium plus acid, but almost no tannins at all. It's really smooth on the back end with lots of cherries and some red currants in the mid palate. There is a clean taste of fruit flavor but not bursting with fruit, it's almost a lingering fruit instead of bright fruit. The wine has a smooth finish.
