Guidance Small Batch comes from Jason Ridgel, who launched this Nashville-based American whiskey in 2018 as a nod to the people who guided him along the way. The corn-and-rye mash, with a touch of malted barley, is distilled in Iowa, then aged two years in oak and finished in Nashville. Expect burnt caramel and maraschino cherry on the nose, easing into a smooth, vanilla-forward palate with a long, smoky finish at 80 proof. Pour it neat to start, or stretch it into a caramel-leaning whiskey sour.
