Overview

More Info

Gran Centenario's story starts in 1857, when Lázaro Gallardo—credited as Mexico's first tequila master distiller—set the standard this Jalisco house still follows. The Añejo spends about 16 months resting in new American oak, picking up cooked agave, toasted almond, clove, and vanilla notes that helped it take Double Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. At 80 proof, it's smooth enough to sip neat, though it also anchors a slow-stirred Old Fashioned beautifully.

The Real Meaning of Tequila

"I've tried a lot of tequilas, but Grand Centenario is one of the best brands. What tequila is actually about is this Anejo. With this one, I've converted a lot of my steadfast whiskey drinkers to tequila. Either neat or iced, it is a nice sipper. If necessary, add it to a margarita; the cost is reasonable. If you order this at Aquascalientes when I'm in Mexico, they will know you are a G. This is excellent."

Designed To Be Enjoyed

"Although I've always preferred premium sour mash, bourbon, and single malt Scotch, I enjoy exploring new things. I impulsively bought this stuff, and I'm pleased I did. mature, smooth, and has a fantastic sense of flavor. This is not intended for bar shot-taking; it is created for sipping and savoring. Excellent accouterment for your preferred cigar."

Possibly the best tequila for less than $60 a bottle

"The only rival, assuming you can obtain El Jimador Anejo at the correct price, is this, in my opinion, the single BEST anejo under $60/bottle. Despite not being an anejo with a lot of character or one that is rich and complex, it has a wonderful finish, superb balance, and is smooth and enjoyable to sip on a regular basis."

Best Anejo At An Unbeatable Price

"Since I love tequila and have tried every variety, Anejo is my favorite. Blanco seems impossible to drink; reposado, perhaps, but usually anejo. I've tried other gins, but this Centenario Anejo is by far the smoothest. I figured it would be like any other cheap tequila that burns your throat and stomach since it was under $30. However, this one is so smooth that nothing is even necessary to chase it. tastes delicious whether it has ice or not. Typically, we prefer it in a shot glass. There won't be any more tequila priced at $100 or higher."

A TRADITIONAL TEQUILA WITH A SOFT BUZZ

"Straight Fire: Smooth and potent with no harshness. It was my first time drinking it, and I think it's the best tequila I've ever had. As a middle-aged man, I say that. Great straight up or for mixing."

Excellent Tequila, Exorbitant Fees

"The tequila is absolutely excellent, but I am a little uneasy because I paid a store's shipping fee, but at the very end they added a dodgy payment that wasn't mentioned in the checkout"

Denise M. (5/5)

The price of Gran Centenario Anejo is unbeatable.

"By far the smoothest tequila available in this price range is Gran Centenario Anejo. Over ten years have passed since I last sipped on this tequila."

Peter G. (5/5)

Best Among The Best!

"Simply the greatest Anejo available for this price. superior to Patron and on par with Don Julio. Try their Leyenda if you want something spectacular!"

My wife and I found this enjoyable.

"This tequila was a surprise gift from my father-in-law to me years ago. My wife and I continue to have fun."
