Named for Nuremberg's own Renaissance master, this white Glühwein comes from Gerstacker, the family winery that's warmed the city's Christkindlesmarkt since 1965. It echoes a medieval Nuremberg tradition: local wine spiced with imports merchants once carried from as far as Venice and the Hanseatic ports. Made from white wine and warming spices, it carries the protected g.g.A. designation reserved for Nuremberg mulled wine, around 9.1-9.2% ABV. Heat gently (never boil) and sip with gingerbread, stollen, or spiced cookies.
