Mark XXVII in Foursquare's Exceptional Cask Selection series marks a first for the line: a rum finished in ex-Black Muscat wine casks. Master distiller Richard Seale married two rums, both pot-and-column distilled from molasses — one aged five years in bourbon barrels before nine more in Black Muscat, the other a straight fourteen-year bourbon expression. Bottled at cask strength, 61% ABV, with nothing added. Expect ripe tangerine and toffee opening into leather, cedar, and baking spice. Pour neat, slowly, for a proper after-dinner sip.
