Born in Austin, Fix rethinks vodka from the water up. The base spirit is pesticide-free corn, cut with water drawn from a Texas aquifer some 500 feet underground — naturally alkaline, with a pH above 8 versus the roughly 4 typical of most vodkas. Ten distillations and six passes through coconut husk charcoal smooth out the edges, landing at 80 proof with a clean finish and no burn. It took Double Gold at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Serve it over ice or shaken into a crisp martini.
