Firme Joven Espadín is Sip Something New in its most rooted form — a mezcal made in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, from 9-year-old Espadín agave. The maguey is roasted in an underground conical oven, crushed by horse-drawn tahona, fermented in open-air pine tanks, and double-distilled in copper alembics at 42% ABV. Expect smoke woven with fresh herbal and citrus notes and a smooth, deep finish. Pour it neat with orange slices and sal de gusano for a proper Oaxacan sipping ritual.
