Our International Award-Winning 1816 Indiana Rye is aged in the fluctuating Indiana climate in charred white oak barrels. Hand-bottled after it has been proofed to 95, producing the bold rye spice and floral notes with a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon in the background. Then we've infused genuine tahitian vanilla bean. This adds a rich, creamy, natural sweetness, complementing the spicy notes of our distinct Indiana rye. This process creates a more complex and customizable experience. You control how strong the vanilla flavor becomes by adjusting the infusion time. You can remove the bean when your palate deems perfection has been acheieved.
Ingredients
2 oz. 1816 Vanilla Rye
1 tsp. powdered sugar
1 whole egg
5 ounces milk
Garnish: nutmeg
Garnish: cinnamon sticks (optional)
Add 1816 Vanilla Rye, sugar, egg and milk to a shaker with plenty of ice, and shake hard for 20-30 seconds.
Strain into a mug, and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
Optionally, garnish with a cinnamon stick.
