Exiliado means "exiled" in Spanish, and there's a real story behind the name. This Oaxacan mezcal comes from Temo Garcia, who learned the craft from his father, a maestro mezcalero, at a palenque in San Dionisio Ocotepec. The espadin agave is roasted over volcanic rock, crushed by stone, fermented in pine, then twice distilled in copper. The result is lightly smoked and smooth at 46% ABV, clean enough to sip neat and structured enough to carry a cocktail.
