Our Extra Añejo honors Carlos Camarena’s father Felipe J. and their shared passion for aging tequila. This special tequila blend is slowly aged in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for four to five years, which add rich flavors of chocolate and coffee.

Stunning Expression From El Tesoro Once Again

"I must first address two issues. Rapidrob1 gave El Tesoro a 1-Star review, concluding that customers would be better served by "Grad Mayan Extra Anejo or Clase Resposado. " I agree that Grand Mayan XA is a good XA, but bringing up Clase Azul Reposado is absurd because you can't compare a Repo to a XA and Clase Azul is notorious for having additives. This is an incredible expression from El Tesoro, as usual. poured and allowed to breathe for a few minutes in a Glencarin glass. Oak and baking spices dominate the nose. Agave dominates the flavor profile, along with strong caramel, dried fruit, and wood. Grassiness is present in the long finish. This will undoubtedly rank as one of my favorite XAs because El Tesoro makes one of my favorite Anejos."
