Eagles Landing Syrah is a dry red wine from California, produced as the boutique personal label of Joe Hurliman, longtime head winemaker at Herzog Wine Cellars in Oxnard. Made from 100% Syrah grapes, it pours a deep ruby color with aromas of sun-ripened blackberry, black plum, and blueberry jam layered with a subtle herbes de Provence note. Well-integrated tannins give it a firm backbone built for the cellar as well as the table. Pour it alongside grilled lamb, braised short ribs, or a sharp aged cheese board.
