Duckhorn has sourced Merlot from Napa Valley's Three Palms Vineyard since its very first 1978 vintage, and the site's lean, gravelly soils push vines to root deep for concentrated, age-worthy fruit — work Wine Spectator once named Wine of the Year. Aged some 18 months in French oak, this bottling shows classic Three Palms character: layers of dark cherry, blackberry, and huckleberry laced with cocoa, baking spice, and a savory mineral edge, framed by firm, structured tannins rare for the varietal.
