The Martinez family of Santa Maria Albarradas, Oaxaca, has been distilling since 1943, and this bottling honors Don Epigmenio, whose two passions were music and mezcal. Expect a nose of banana, strawberries and cream, then a lively, peppery palate with gentle sweetness and bright acidity. Pour it neat alongside a cheese board or something sweet.
