Here's a mezcal with a tequila's soul: it's made from blue agave, the same variety that defines tequila, but grown in the Oaxacan village of San Luis del Rio. The Cruz Nolasco family crushes it with a horse-drawn stone mill, ferments it in open wood, and twice-distills it in copper. The result is creamy and bright, with citrus, dried tropical fruit, wet stone, and a whisper of white pepper. Bottled at 47% ABV. Pour it neat and sip slowly.
