Coppercraft's Straight Bourbon comes out of Holland, Michigan — a distillery that earned Michigan Distillery of the Year honors from the New York International Spirits Competition. Rather than a single mash bill, this one is a careful blend of sourced bourbon barrels at different ages, married and proofed down over roughly three months using techniques borrowed from cognac houses. Expect tobacco, cinnamon, toasted nuts, and toffee on the palate. Pour it neat to track the layers, or let it anchor an Old Fashioned.
