A distinct bourbon variety

"Last week, I bought a bottle, and I'm delighted I did. The flavor is a touch fruity; I detected a faint strawberry undertone, but the apricot flavor predominates. Finish that's a little tart. I was happy I gave it a shot. Initial hints of vanilla and caramel. I'd be happy to buy it again."

Miron A. (5/5)

Misleading, imaginative marketing

"In-store flavor was decent, and the label is striking. But I detest it when I get home and research a product only to learn where the whisky is actually from and that the information on the label is completely false. I feel completely cheated and deceived. Even though I enjoy the whisky, the price is perhaps too high. I'm really hesitant to ever purchase bourbon because so many of them outright misrepresent their quality."

Debra S. (3/5)

Exceptionally wonderful standard bourbon.

"This bourbon is not "Alabama Style"; rather, it is likely MGP and it is sourced from Indiana. It exhibits the bourbon-specific hue, flavors, and smells. While they are both close, I found this Clyde May's to have a little edge over Buffalo Trace when I randomly compared the two. At $54 for the 1. 75L jug, which is reasonable and in line with many other similar bourbons, that works out to roughly $23 per 750ml bottle. There are better bourbons available for that price range, so I wouldn't pay $35 to $40 for a 750ml bottle."

Poirier (4/5)

A favorite of mine; excellent value bourbon

"When it comes to my personal drinking, I like to keep a couple different Bourbons in rotation at this same price bracket as my "go-to" bourbon. One of them is without a doubt Clyde Mays. It is simply top-notch straight bourbon; there is nothing special about it. Great Neat, Great for Cocktails, and Great on a Rock. Unquestionably, I advise"

Tristán T. (4/5)

The epitome of convenience

"I purchased my first bottle a few months ago, and ever since then, every time I visit The Warehouse, it has been added to my cart. I prefer to drink it neat or with ice since I'm not a big mixer. Clyde-May's first has a tiny sharpness, but it goes away quickly and leaves no unpleasant aftertaste. Pouring this and other spirits correctly, in my experience, requires allowing them to breathe for a while."

Ken J. (4/5)

This is lovely and fluid

"I wait until I'm halfway through a bottle before entering a review. One of the most cheap and smooth bourbons I have in my cabinet is this one. With a strong finish, the vanilla flavor is strong and subtle spice. This should be consumed neat or on a rock, not mixed. Highly regarded"

Ghazna B. (4/5)

Unbeatable for the Price

"Everyone who leaves a negative review is doing one thing very simply: they are not allowing this to breathe. If you consume it directly from the bottle, it will taste a touch "overly unique" and harsh. Just leave this out for 10 to 15 minutes. This bourbon is as nice as anything costing two to three times as much to breathe in the glass. This "breathing" is not necessary once the bottle has been opened and poured a few times, but it still doesn't harm. In my opinion, Clyde May's fulfills the promise made by Jefferson's $70-200 varieties. I believe that only a small number of Bourbons offer superior value."

The Century's Best Bourbon

"With Pappy's 20-year-old, Elmer T. Lee, and Jefferson, who is 21 years old, we conducted an open (non-blind) tasting of Clyde May's. The other two placed it in second place. Two of the four chose CM. Exceptional bargain, in our opinion!"

Quadrian O. (5/5)

Fluid, delicate, and courageous

"This bourbon has a pleasant flavor. Delicate in its balance of sweetness and spice, with neither being overdone. The bourbon string is sufficient for an old fashioned even though it feels delicate because of its assertive balance."

Eustorgio (5/5)

I'm pleased I tried it.

"Smooth finish and great flavor. Outstanding quality with a very faint taste of honey. extremely low heat, extremely gentle finish."
