Château Haut-Marbuzet is a classic Bordeaux red from Saint-Estèphe in France's Médoc, built mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown on gravel-clay-limestone soil over 65 hectares. Fermented in large oak vats, it's aged nearly 18 months in 100% new French oak, giving it a deep, dark color and a bouquet of ripe black and red fruit layered with espresso, licorice, and smoky cedar notes. Medium-bodied with soft, polished tannins, it drinks well young but rewards a few years in the cellar. Pour it alongside roasted lamb, grilled steak, or aged hard cheeses.
