"Ice - Little sweeter with a little ice, incredibly smooth and a delight to sip. Neat - Lots of vanilla, very marshmallowy, buttery almond, not too sweet, slightly rich but soft and easy. Flavor profiles are essentially the same. On a hot day, it's good to top up a small glass with spiced rum by adding crushed ice to the rim. No mixer is necessary. Although I prefer Islay single malt Scotch, I do drink more rum in the summer. Although Captain Morgan is a wonderful change of pace from Admiral Nelson, whom I typically like. Good item; I'd buy it again."

"This rum has always been my favorite. has a pleasant vanilla flavor. doesn't taste like whisky or have an overbearing alcohol aftertaste like Sailor Jerry or Bacardi. Outstanding for a mixer, coke, ginger ale, or even juice. For a shot or across rocks, or even by itself. Try the 100 proof captain if you truly want to try something smooth. considerably less bite, but the same rich vanilla flavor."

"The last spiced rum I'd ask for neat or on the rocks is probably regular Captain Morgan. Very little comes out, so it's understandable if you're unhappy with it. However, I've discovered that Captain Morgan gives a smoother and, overall, far more pleasant flavor than others in a cocktail, placing it a step above dead-last when compared to competitors in this regard. Captain Morgan is simple to use if I just want a wonderful, pleasurable drink. If you're wanting to mix, by all means choose the Captain's well-liked option. However, almost anything else will provide you with a greater taste of spiced rum if you want to drink it authentically, neat or on the rocks."
