More Info

Calumet Farm Single Rack Black 14 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey represents both the prestigious nature and hard-earned quality of a premium Kentucky straight bourbon. It is painstakingly crafted from extremely small batches of 19 barrels. All barrels used are aged in a single, center cut rack from the ideal maturation location and conditions inside the rick house. This expression of the Calumet Farm Bourbon family is a true convergence of craftsmanship and flavor. It is Non-Chill Filtered for added depth of character and color.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep amber throughout with shimmering highlights of copper and sun-yellow

Nose: Heavy notes of oak and molasses are rolled back as light scents of fresh corn, wood sugars and hay present

Taste: Smooth flavors of oak and char subside to reveal complex sensations of toasted grains, toffee and vanilla

Finish: The long finish leaves the palate with a subtle dryness followed by lasting flavors of rye and dark fruit

Reviews

I really liked the flavor.

"I concur with the prior statement. There are probably cheaper bottles with higher quality. At the same time, two little cubes opened it, which I liked. I prefer sweeter bourbons, although the molasses flavors were helpful. Once more, given the price, I'd choose a different route, but I'll still enjoy this bottle with a cigar!"

Superior to the 10 and 12

"I was truly disappointed in the Calumet 10 and 12 year bourbons. A friend talked me into this one. Definitely as deeper aroma to start things off. Rolls on the tongue nicely and lets the flavor linger. Undertones of sweetness almost a cherry flavor? The usual vanillas and caramels come in with some oak. The back end has a little dryness some pepper and cinnamon. Much better than the others but not FANTASTIC. Good to try for one bottle but at this price I will go to others."

Very nice for a luxury purchase

"Nicely done for a luxury purchase. Very rich cherry aroma and flavor. Very fluid. On the palate, there is a hint of spice (pepper? ginger?). Stunning finish. The spicy component greatly diminished after settling for ten minutes."

Seif Y. (5/5)

Undoubtedly, this is a complete triumph.

"The bourbon deserves five ratings, but my taste buds only give it three at the moment. I had the impression that something had been missing from my bar after sipping this bourbon. I'll try a few more (perhaps based on evaluations on Tipxyy), but I'll use this as the benchmark for success."

Piers K. (5/5)

Personally, I think this is simply overpriced.

"I wouldn't anticipate this from a bottle of bourbon costing more than $100. I'm not sure where they got it, but I don't like it. I gave it three stars despite the fact that it's not particularly good and you can tell it's not young. I can find much nicer bourbons for half the price."

14-year-old bourbon Wow, that's awesome!

"Cherrywood is the nose. new leather for shoes. Taste: There is no heat, just a subtle rye and cinnamon kick. Excellent mouthfeel. A tiny oak tree towards the end. Nice stuff!"

Michelangela C. (4/5)

My favorite Calumet ride

"By far, the best Calumet is this one. equal to Sam Houston 14 in size. Something to go with lighter cigars is absolutely a must if you enjoy smoking them."

Elmas O. (5/5)

My preferred whiskey for neat drinking!

"My favorite bourbon to drink neat has a distinctive flavor that encourages you to savor it rather than gulp it down."

Juma E. (5/5)

Among the greatest bourbons available for the money

"You heard correctly; this bourbon is the best you can buy for the money and the quality is top-notch; you can never go wrong with it."

Song S. (5/5)

Fine but not outstanding

"Very good. but also not quite good. There is little body and an especially thin finish. Under $50, but not for the price, I would buy."
