Amaro usually means Italy, but this one hails from San Francisco with an unexpected Scandinavian streak. Geijer builds it on a neutral corn spirit, then layers 31 botanicals—birch bark, heather flowers, sea buckthorn, rhubarb and gentian among them—for a bittersweet pour that leads with sandalwood, resin and cinnamon before rosemary and mint step in.
