Overview

More Info

Cabo Wabo Reposado traces back to a nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, where rocker Sammy Hagar started pouring a house tequila made by a family distillery in Jalisco — it caught on enough to go from bar pour to bottled brand. Made from 100% blue Weber agave and rested in American oak, it turns gold with citrus on the nose and a fruity, peppery finish that lingers. Sip it neat, on the rocks, or built into a margarita for something a little bolder.

Nothing better under $60.

"This tequila is well-balanced enough to be enjoyed plain and is ideal for building a traditional margarita on the rocks with JUST lime juice, a little simple syrup, and ice. It has a milder sweetness and no lasting aftertaste. It has a slight pepper bite to it at first, but that soon fades to reveal a smooth, sweet flavor. There isn't a tequila that costs less than $60 that can compete with this one. The greatest value, in my opinion."

No lingering flavor, Very smooth.

"Such a great tequila! Has no weird aftertaste and works well with margaritas and tequila sunrises. Smooth finish with a hint of fruitiness. When I want to party with my husband, I always reach for this tequila."

It is x10 smoothly

"I began off with approximately four drinks of this reposado and worked really hard to understand the tequila's entire flavor. mild pepper, sweet, and silky smooth. Because the flavor is so subtle, it was quite challenging for me to fully understand what I was tasting. The subtle harmony of it all may be where this tequila's genius rests. This tequila continues the delicate balancing effort of remaining not too much of one or the other. So many tequilas start off this way and ultimately fall toward the too sweet or too spicy side. I believe this tequila would be appreciated by a true tequila enthusiast and that it should be included in a line of tequilas to demonstrate how sophisticated tequilas can be. I would not suggest it to a casual tequila drinker or to anyone who does not consider 100% agave tequilas to be a divine sacrament."

This is a heavy metal beverages

"Sammy Hagar is the mastermind behind this fantastic hard core tequila, which is far superior to Jose Cuervo tequila and a superb party drink."

I have not yet gotten it. Eventually today.

"I have not yet gotten it. Eventually today. After hearing so many positive reviews about how smooth and delicious it is in margaritas, I can't wait to try it when it does."

— Brandon M. (5/5)

One of the most affordable tequilas by far

"Great as usual! My favorite is Patron, and my second (cheaper) pick is Cabo."

★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ 3/5 AI Rating

Reviewers on The Rum Howler Blog and Drinkhacker rate Cabo Wabo Reposado solidly for creamy agave, vanilla, and citrus pepper notes. However, recent tasters note the formulation has slipped since ownership transitions, with some calling out unwanted bitterness compared to the original Hagar-era release.
