Emerald II Rye is the third of our Blue Run rye releases, and features a sweeter, more rounded profile than its predecessor (Emerald I Rye). This Kentucky Straight Rye contains 212 barrels aged across diverse locations of the rickhouses, contributing to its well-balanced flavor. This is a jewel that embraces the distinct, spicy characteristics of rye, but with the smoothness and depth of an aged bourbon.
Tasting notes
Nose: A bouquet of butterscotch interplays with tropical notes reminiscent to rum based grilled pineapple.
Palate: The sweetness of maraschino cherry hits the palate, followed by tropical notes of mango juice, rounding out with wood spice.
