Overview

More Info

A homage to the legendary Stitzel-Weller distillery, Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey uses a unique Solera System aging process to preserve some of the distillery’s oldest whiskey stocks, including some of the last bourbon produced there before it closed in 1992. The solera liquid is mingled with other fine whiskies aged and bottled at Stitzel-Weller. Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey received a GOLD MEDAL at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Find Blade and Bow near you and collect the five distinct keys - some rarer than others - that adorn every bottle.

Tasting notes

Aged in new charred American white oak barrels, this bourbon has a subtle aroma of fresh fruit and a taste that includes hints of dried apricot, ripe pear and a sweet roasted grain. The finish has notes of charred oak and warm winter spices.

All-time Favorite

"Although I learned about this around a year ago, I didn't place a bottle on my shelf until lately. My shelf will never again be without it. It hits my favorite caramel and vanilla notes with an uncommon level of precision. It's ideal to drink on its own or to use to create a cocktail because to the smooth, rich flavor. Additionally, the pricing makes it a no-brainer to keep on hand."

It must be straightforward and match your intended flavor profile.

"The first thing to note is that Diageo, not Buffalo Trace, where Pappy is currently distilled, produces this. Those who are reading this already likely know this; if not, look up the tale. I take Diageo products seriously. While they are capable of making a good product, they may also create more buzz to market their pricy high ends. Although this bourbon isn't particularly complex, if it complements your palate, you'll undoubtedly like it. This pricing point would make it a gamble, therefore. At a bar, start with a pour. Cheers."

Easy to drink

"Several of my bourbon brothers recommended this. The price tag made me hesitant, but it ended up surprising me. Noise levels are low. Caramel, cherry, and vanilla were the flavors I detected, along with a light spice, and the finish. Really easy to enjoy and smooth. I believe they would be more of a steal if they were $40. Would I buy it again? Possibly"

Not So Great

""The question "why am I not giving it a 1-star rating" comes to mind as I consider what to write here. Okay, the answer is because there is worse bourbon available. . . I actually poured another sip of it the other day and tossed it down the drain. I have 40+ bourbons, and this is one of just two that I've dumped out. It's truly a washed out basic bourbon with extra burn. There are really too many better alternatives, so continue. ""

Good all-around

"Although decent, Blade & Bow Bourbon isn't very unique. It fills the void of being able to function either as a mixer or neatly on its own. Not too bad for the cost. coconut and vanilla hints. It's noteworthy that friends who are newer to drinking whiskey tend to really appreciate this one."

Exceptionally Unique Bourbon

"Highly smooth, but with a flavor that is very distinct and normally found in the best whiskeys. The same team who brought you Pappy have created this dish using an original recipe that has been forgotten for years."

Exceptional bottle for the price.

"I wholeheartedly concur with the other 5 star reviews. This bottle might soon join the ranks of those that are impossible to locate. Although it's not the spicier bourbon available, it still has a pretty large mouthful. Superb illustration of a Kentucky bourbon."

"This has absolutely nothing to do with the delivery. Being a bourbon enthusiast, my boyfriend wasn't really fond of this brand."
