Armagnac is Cognac's lesser-known Gascon cousin, and Marie Duffau has been making it since her family began distilling with a traveling copper still near Lannepax in the early 1900s. This Hors d'Age blends Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, and Folle Blanche, single-distilled at low temperature and aged well past the 10-year minimum in Gascon and Limousin oak. Expect toffee, plum, and dates layered over baking spice and elegant rancio. Pour it neat after dinner, the way Gascon farmhouses have for five generations.
