Marchesi di Barolo has been coaxing Nebbiolo out of the Langhe since 1807, and this DOCG bottling is their classic expression of the appellation. Grown in clay-and-limestone vineyards and trained on Guyot vines, it pours deep garnet with ruby edges, opening into spice, cinnamon, tobacco, and dog rose, then settling into soft, enveloping tannins with a woody finish. Pour it alongside braised meats, game, or aged sheep's-milk cheese for the full Piedmontese effect.
