Most mezcals come from a single agave, but Banhez blends two: 90% Espadin and 10% Barril, grown and made by a co-op of 36-plus farming families in San Miguel Ejutla, Oaxaca. The agave roasts in underground wood-fired pits, gets crushed by a donkey-pulled stone tahona, ferments in wooden tanks, and distills in copper. The result is soft and gently smoky, with bright pineapple and banana. Sip it neat to meet mezcal, or let it carry a fruit-forward cocktail.
