A 17-year-old edition of the highly popular Balvenie DoubleWood whisky has emerged as another brilliant creation from Balvenie Malt Master David Stewart's workbench. Initially aged in oak casks used for maturing whisky, this version was later transferred to sherry wood for a finishing touch. The additional aging years have enhanced its complexity, yet it remains subtle and not too dominant.
Tasting notes
Warm Acacia honey and green apples on the nose leading to warm winter spices, vanilla and honeysuckle on the palate. The finish is gloriously long with notes of vanilla and honey.
