Overview

The recipe came from the monks of the Abbey of Santo Spirito in Caltanissetta, handed to the textile merchant Salvatore Averna by Frà Girolamo in 1868. Herbs, roots and spices are infused with essential oils of bitter orange and lemon, and the amaro is still made in Sicily to that recipe. 29% ABV.
