Meet a tequila named for Tío Atanasio, a master distiller who reportedly lived to 103. This additive-free añejo (NOM 1599) rests 13 months in white oak, and it shows: the pour lands dark copper and silky, with aromas of woody spice, black pepper, dried fruit and a whisper of butter. Sweet cooked agave carries through caramel, vanilla, and berry notes on the palate. Small-batch work from Maestro Tequilero René Carranza. Sip it neat and let it open, or build a slow-sipping old fashioned. 40% ABV.
