Ardbeg fans, here's a peated Islay single malt with a twist rooted in the still house. For Heavy Vapours, the distillery removed the purifier that usually lightens its spirit, letting a bigger, oilier character come through. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled non-chill-filtered at 46%, it leans into creosote, tarry rope and smoked artichoke, then dark chocolate, coffee grounds, cardamom and cooling eucalyptus. The finish runs long and bold. Pour it neat, add a splash of water, and let the smoke unfold slowly.
