Named for a Lake Van legend of doomed devotion, Ararat Akhtamar VSOP is a 10-year Armenian brandy from the storied Yerevan Brandy Company, blending more than fifteen individual grape distillates from indigenous Garandmak and Voskehat varieties. Aged in barrels hewn from Caucasian oak over seventy years old, it pours warm amber and opens with plum jam, beeswax, and toasted walnut, rounding into vanilla, dried apricot, and a cinnamon-spiced finish. Pour it neat after dinner, or alongside dark chocolate and stone fruit.
