Arak Fakra comes from a Mount Lebanon distillery in Kfardebian dating to the early 1700s, where two local grape varieties—Obeidi and Merwayh—are triple-distilled with Syrian Hina aniseed, then aged in centuries-old clay jars from Beit-Chabab that let the spirit breathe and round out over months. The result is a bold, licorice-forward pour with a soft, absinthe-like edge. Pour one part over ice, add two parts cold water, and watch it turn milky-white—then sip alongside olives, feta, and small fish.
