Amatitena hails from Amatitán, Jalisco — the tiny village that gives añejo tequila its name — where maestro tequilero Alberto Partida cooks 100% Blue Weber agave in a mesquite-fired stone oven, mills it by tahona, and lets it ferment on the fibers with wild yeast in open wood tanks. This añejo then rests 12 months in ex-Napa Valley red wine American oak, landing at 42% ABV with layered notes of caramel, vanilla, dried cherry, and toasted marzipan. Pour it neat, after dinner, in place of a nightcap.
