"Not a true tequila flavor, way too sugary, and a lot of vanilla. Don Julio 1942 contains a lot of vanilla, but it's excellent and I'd pour it over some ice cream on a Sunday. A very good drink was created when it was combined with some del Maguay mescal."

"This bottle is excellent. I think it's the whiskey-aged variety, which has a smoother, sweeter flavor. I've tried a variety of tequilas and have yet to taste many more. However, this is by far my favorite. This tequila is top-shelf. It works well for sipping but NOT for blending. Try the same brand in a black bottle if this is too sweet for you. I've loved living in Tijuana for the past two years. The nicest aspect is that I have access to a wide variety of tequilas, some of which are not available in the US. Google Victor's Liquor Store in Tijuana. About 5 blocks before Hong Kong on Revolution Blvd. is where it is. You can also ask the Uber, DiDi, or taxi driver to take you to Victor's, where you can sample their drink before you decide to buy."

Simply Too Sweet

"Just sip on some sugar water instead. The only tequila that I've found that has the richness of a fine whisky is Adictivo amber, which is why I adore it. So, I decided to try the darker extra Anejo when I spotted it for $10 more. That is awful. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you drank this next to overly sweetened water while wearing a blindfold. That deceptive sweet stickiness is still present in my mouth. This can only be tolerated if I dilute it with water to reduce the sweetness to a nearly bearable level. That is a waste of money. I've now lost money with this brand twice. First, I received a rotting bottle of Adictivo silver when I purchased it. Regards, Adictivo. Do yourself a favor and avoid spending more money on the more Anjeo; you will regret it. The Amber is still fantastic stuff."
