Aberfeldy 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky released as part of the Wine Cask Series. It is first matured in refill and hogshead casks before being finished in first-fill Sangiovese red wine casks sourced from Tuscany's Valdarno di Sopra region. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and without added colour, it carries Aberfeldy's signature honeyed character layered with ripe cherries, red plums, candied orange peel and honeyed figs, closing on soft spice and oak.
Colour: Deep amber with copper-gold hues and a subtle ruby-red glow.
Nose: Honeyed sweetness and a vibrant red fruit bouquet: ripe cherries, plums and figs with orange zest. Subtle clove spice winds through soft vanilla, carried by a wine-led perfume from Sangiovese casks, whispering sun-warmed oak and refined elegance.
Palate: Ripe cherries, red plums and figs unfold across the palate, framed by orange peel zest, gentle clove spice and soft vanilla. Aberfeldy’s honeyed sweetness threads through, giving richness and a poised, wine-led balance from the Sangiovese casks. Lush and harmonious, with a lingering, refined finish.
