Tepeztate is a wild, slow-growing agave — some plants take up to three decades in the Oaxaca hillsides before they're ready for mezcal. This joven from 1509 is distilled entirely from that agave, left unaged so its natural character comes through, and handcrafted at 48% ABV. Expect roasted agave up front, giving way to herbal, earthy, faintly floral notes and a long, warming finish. Pour it neat to taste the agave itself, or use it to add depth to a mezcal cocktail.
