Bourbon distilled in Kentucky, bottled for Japan, and never sold on a US shelf.

For decades the Japanese market got expressions American drinkers couldn't buy at home. Takara Shuzo imported Blanton's into Japan in presentations built for that market — the Gold Edition among them, an export-only release long before it was anything else. Four Roses did the same with its Super Premium bottling. These are those bottles: Japanese-market releases, imported back, in the boxes and labels they left the country wearing.

They are not the US editions under a different name. The proof, the presentation and the barrel selection differ, and so does the price.
