Originally crafted by Kentucky Bourbon Hall-of-Famer Eddie Russell as “Wild Turkey 81”, Wild Turkey Bourbon is aged in American White Oak barrels with the deepest, No. 4 “alligator” char. With notes of sweet vanilla, pear, and hints of spice, this bourbon finishes with a flavor that is full and rich, whether enjoyed straight or bourbon cocktail.

Tasting notes

TASTE: An explosion of vanilla and caramel, with hints of honey and orange.

AROMA: Deep vanilla with caramel and oak.

FINISH: Lingering finish with soft oak and notes of dried fruit.

PROCESS: Aged in No. 4 alligator char, 81 proof

Neglected Turkey

"I'm not sure if it is a marketing problem or anything else, but I had completely forgotten about Wild Turkey. My Dad consumed it. When I occasionally had it in college, I considered it to be a "luxury brand" that I couldn't afford. Then I decided to buy it after realizing the other day how inexpensive it was in comparison to other premium brands like Woodford. I wasn't let down. . . very easy. I have no idea how to class WT. It has a cork top, a wonderful reputation, and is often less expensive than Makers but not as inexpensive as Ancient and other similar products. I don't know why it has become less popular over the years, but I will always appreciate the excellent taste and affordable cost."
