Añejo tequila, meaning "aged" or "vintage" in Spanish, was introduced as a way to refine and elevate tequila’s flavor through barrel aging.
Traditionally, it spends one to three years in oak barrels, a practice influenced by European aging techniques used in whiskey and brandy production.
