Overview

Valle Reale's flagship red comes from San Calisto, the oldest parcel on their Abruzzo estate — an 8-hectare vineyard planted in 1960 on traditional pergola trellises high in the Maiella foothills. Cold mountain winds and wide day-to-night swings push the 100% Montepulciano grapes toward slow ripening and real structure, and the wine spends time in large oak casks before bottling. Expect dark berry fruit, cassis and leather notes, and a long finish. Pour it alongside braised meats or aged pecorino.
