The climate in Newport, Oregon is mild and the fresh ocean air is perfect for whiskey to breathe as it ages, a process we call “ocean aging.” This unique process imparts the smooth, rich taste Dead Guy is known for.
Nose: The nose offers notes of grain, sea air, salt, and sweet hay with suggestions of honey raisin, citrus, buttery spice and oak.
Palate: Green tea and lemony notes give way to buttery brown sugar and sweet pepper along with touches of toasted cereal, golden raisins, and honey clove. that segues acceptably into a medium to long finish. There's a hint of sea salt and dark chocolate on the mid palate.
