Rock Hill Farms is Buffalo Trace's quietly allocated single barrel bourbon, drawn from the distillery's rye-forward Mash Bill #2 and bottled at 100 proof with no age statement. Expect cherry, baked apple, and hay on the nose, giving way to vanilla, charred oak, and cinnamon bark, with a mid-palate wave of toasted sugar and rye spice that lingers into a creamy, oak-tinged finish. It shares single-barrel DNA with Blanton's and Elmer T. Lee, sourced from the limestone waters along the Kentucky River. Pour it neat to let the spice unfold.
Tasting notes
Nose: Dried dark fruit, oak, complex dark sweets (caramel, butterscotch, etc.), leather, roasted corn, dried apples and baking spice.
Palate: Caramel, musty oak, dried dark fruit, butterscotch, copper, roasted corn, some honey, and light tropical fruit notes.
Finish: Medium -> Caramel, dried apples, oak, spice and fruity sweetness.
