Named for the neighbor who taught him everything: winemaker Eric Jensen built this Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon as a nod to Stephan Asseo of L'Aventure, the mentor who first showed him what the Westside's clay-rich soils could do. The blend leans mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot, aged in French oak until it settles into tobacco, spice, and herb notes over red and dark fruit, with velvety tannins carrying the finish. Pour it alongside a good steak.
