Minor Case takes its name from Minor Case Beam, Jim Beam's first cousin, who kept distilling quietly during Prohibition, framed as medicinal spirits. Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky revives that lineage with a 51% rye mash bill, aged two years in new charred oak, then finished several months in cream sherry casks. Expect black pepper and cinnamon spice tangled up with dried fruit, vanilla, and oak, at 90 proof. Pour it neat to let the sherry sweetness unfold, or build a rye Manhattan.
