This single-barrel rye whiskey from Michter's works a treat both neat and in cocktails. Peppery and spicy, this also displays refreshing orange notes, plus sweet toffee/butterscotch. Very moreish.
Tasting notes
Nose - Very aromatic and fresh. Almost minty, with lovely savoury edge, then measured spiciness comes through.
Palate - Incredibly smooth mouthfeel for a rye, this is clean and balanced, then the caraway and fennel seed kicks in.
Finish - Appealingly dry spiciness – impressive stuff.
