Handed down from Aquilino Garcia Lopez to his sons Temo and Mateo, this mezcal is distilled from wild Agave Mexicano grown on the family's own hillside in Candelaria Yegole, Oaxaca. The agave is roasted in an earthen pit, crushed by a mule-drawn stone tahona, fermented in pine vats, then distilled in copper stills to 51.5% ABV. Expect green herb and citrus brightness laced with gentle smoke and a smooth, lingering finish. Pour it neat in a copita for slow sipping, or alongside grilled vegetables and citrus-forward ceviche.
