The third in the annual series of seasonal releases from Lochlea, the Fallow Edition First Crop - the Autumnal expression - has been matured exclusively in ex-oloroso sherry butts, making for a whisky full of plums, red berries and malty biscuits.
Tasting notes
Nose: Plenty of sherry character, with juicy plums, poached apple, and warm pancakes.
Palate: Dried prunes and figs, spiced fruitcake, earthy grist, and twists of aniseed.
Finish: Dark treacle, drizzles of honey, and winter spices.
